whoa nelly

one night Matt and i were having a lovely evening watching Primeval.

if you don't know about this show, don't feel bad or anything because most people don't.

it's very X-Files-esque but british and with dinosaurs.

i know, Matt and i are amazingly awesome.

so anyway, we're watching this totally awesome show and the main girl on it, Abby, is the bomb diggity!

she's all bad A and has a cool accent and a pet dino/lizard guy that is the cutest thing ever.

so as we're watching this show Matt turns to me and tells me he wants me to color my hair like Abby.

and i was like say whaaaaat? you're talking gibberish.

but he was dead serious and after a few weeks of mulling it over, here i am.

i love it! and Matt LOVES it! and now me and my puppy are twinners so it feels like it was meant to be.

i'm so glad Matt suggested i do this and i don't even care if people think it was a crazy insane change because THAT'S SO ME! 

i love change! i need change!

for so long i've been boring the heck out of myself and that can't happen anymore.

i've been spending more time exercising and being outside and feeling so much better about myself and about life so this huge change totally goes along with all that.

plus, i think it's funny that i shock myself every time i look in the mirror now!

some things

numero uno

i was trying to tell a story to a group of 7 year old kids we teach at church about when my mom was pregnant with my little sister and how badly i wanted her to be named Michelle because of Michelle on Full House.

for some reason that had to do with our lesson and it's a dang good story about how cute and obsessed with family related tv shows i was when i was a child...and now.

so i tell my story and then proceed to try to spark these kids' memories of Full House because every one of them is looking at me with a blank stare and i apparently cannot accept the fact that they've never seen this show before.

i mean, am i really that old?? so old that kids don't even know about tv shows i watched my whole freaking life??

so you can imagine me sitting there saying things like "uncle jesse! you have to know who uncle jesse is! what about joey! and DJ! and stephanie!"

nothing.

kids today are ridiculous!

numero dos 

matt and i are too awesome for words.

while other people are waiting in ginormous crowds for a seat at some big fancy restaurant on valentine's day we're getting panda express to go and spending the evening snuggling on the couch watching benjamin button.

oh and getting some sub zero ice cream because matt is literally obsessed with it right now!

again...awesome are we.

numero tres

since we're gonna be staying in this house for a while longer we decided to actually try to make our second bedroom an office again.

this means we rearranged some stuff and tried really really hard to get it neat and organized so i'm not working in a mess that causes me to feel stressed and anxious all the time.

i don't think we succeeded.

numero quatro

this is the fortune that was in my fortune cookie last night.

now i'm a little freaked that fortune cookies are totally legit because i definitely needed to hear that.

and it only seems right to stick it on my fridge using my buddha magnets.

TGIF

this is one of those weeks i'm super glad is over.

i definitely need a break from work. i've been typing so much i'm starting to get cramps and spasms in my arms. no bueno.

i got a haircut. i hate it.

Matt worked so much i started to forget what he looks like. 

oh yeah...he looks like that. 

i've been extremely nauseous this week. i don't feel like eating at all. hummus especially makes me sick for some reason. oh hummus, how i love you and you torture me.

i'm just so ready for a weekend of me and Matt and food and sleep and House.

which we recently got into a decade after everyone else and i like it.

it makes me laugh.

community weekend

it's funny how the weekends we do totally absolutely completely nothing are sometimes the best weekends ever!

on friday night Matt took our TV up to our bedroom and we spent the whole weekend being lazy.

we watched the entire first season of Community and laughed our heads off!

it is without a doubt my new favorite show.

it totally makes me wish community college was really like that.

ya know instead of just going straight to your class and then straight home afterwards you would actually make friends and do things together.

and did you even know community colleges had cafeterias or dances or mascots?

and of course, i want a friend just like Abed.

i love him more than words can say.

i think our favorite episode of season one was the paintball episode.

i can't wait until Matt comes home so we can watch more.

the little things make me happy

i am happy to announce that my house is getting a little cleaner with each passing day!

i can fit my car in the garage again!

which is very good since our lame HOA left me a mean note on my car telling me to move it since i don't have a permit to park in the parking lot.

does this mean that my garage is now clean?

no way jose!

but since my car is so teeny tiny i was able to stack, thrown away, and rearranged everything so my car now perfectly fits.

i am amazing.

also, i am very excited because matt put up the tv that was in our store in our bedroom!

we have not had a tv in our bedroom the whole time we've lived in this house!

crazy, i know.

but now we do and we LOVE it!

actually, i love it during the day but it's really putting a damper on my already horrible sleeping habits.

oh well, i'll get over it!

we also put up some nicer curtains in our bedroom since i washed the other ones and shrunk them so they didn't fit anymore.

oops!

that's right people, i found a super awesome penguin bag at walgreens and it was love at first sight!

usually matt doesn't let me get things like this but hello?! it was only $5 so he just couldn't refuse!

i love love love love love it!

i can't wait til matt and i go on a trip and i can use it as my airplane bag or something!

everyone will be so jealous!
