whoa nelly

one night Matt and i were having a lovely evening watching Primeval.

if you don't know about this show, don't feel bad or anything because most people don't.

it's very X-Files-esque but british and with dinosaurs.

i know, Matt and i are amazingly awesome.

so anyway, we're watching this totally awesome show and the main girl on it, Abby, is the bomb diggity!

she's all bad A and has a cool accent and a pet dino/lizard guy that is the cutest thing ever.

so as we're watching this show Matt turns to me and tells me he wants me to color my hair like Abby.

and i was like say whaaaaat? you're talking gibberish.

but he was dead serious and after a few weeks of mulling it over, here i am.

i love it! and Matt LOVES it! and now me and my puppy are twinners so it feels like it was meant to be.

i'm so glad Matt suggested i do this and i don't even care if people think it was a crazy insane change because THAT'S SO ME! 

i love change! i need change!

for so long i've been boring the heck out of myself and that can't happen anymore.

i've been spending more time exercising and being outside and feeling so much better about myself and about life so this huge change totally goes along with all that.

plus, i think it's funny that i shock myself every time i look in the mirror now!

hair and kicks

a couple weeks ago i got a bad haircut and i finally got it fixed this week!

i forgot how easy it is to have super short hair. i love it! and i thought Matt would totally hate it but he's more in love with it than i am.

also, i haven't been able to get the pumped up kicks song out of my head all week.

it's definitely my new most favoritest song in the universe.

and just when i thought i couldn't like it anymore i saw the music video.

me and these guys would be best friends.

this is one of those weeks i'm super glad is over.

i definitely need a break from work. i've been typing so much i'm starting to get cramps and spasms in my arms. no bueno.

i got a haircut. i hate it.

Matt worked so much i started to forget what he looks like. 

oh yeah...he looks like that. 

i've been extremely nauseous this week. i don't feel like eating at all. hummus especially makes me sick for some reason. oh hummus, how i love you and you torture me.

i'm just so ready for a weekend of me and Matt and food and sleep and House.

which we recently got into a decade after everyone else and i like it.

it makes me laugh.

i love the 80s!

so on Saturday Matt and i went a wandering around TJMaxx.

we love that store.

and i found the sweetest 80s style sweatshirt!

it was love at first sight.

and you know it's love at first sight when you try it on and then have to take pictures of it in the dresser room.

complete with funny faces.

and you can't really tell in those pictures because of the amazingness of the hooded sweatshirt but i gots my hairs cut.

Matt and i were crazy to think i'd look good with longer hair.

i look and feel like myself again!

so moral of the story...

hairssss cutssss and Mockingjay

today i gots me a haircut!

be excited because it's been months!

Matt finally got sick of me wearing my hair in a ponytail nonstop and asked if i would do something with it.

the poor boy wishes i was more girly sometimes.

so i asked my friend Princessa to do it and she is amazing!

she took this beyond boring hair...

and gave me the choppy layers i love so much!

and now i can do my hair messy again!

also, Matt finally finished reading Mockingjay, the third book of the Hunger Games series, so i can officially say that we were both incredibly disappointed.

and the more we talk about it, the more disappointed i am with it.

i'll stick to the first two books thank you.

i don't know this girl, but she gets me.

who needs a hairstylist when you got me?

sometimes matt makes me cut his hair.

i like when he asks me because it makes me feel like a ridiculously cool hair dresser but every single time i get so scared and worried that i'm going to mess it up.

i haven't made any really noticeable mistakes yet but every time i start cutting i think "this is going to be the time".

so i always get about half way and freak out.

this time was no different.

matt sat down on a chair in the shower (we decided that's the best place to cut hair and have easy clean up).

he wanted it shorter than i've ever cut it before which meant using the razor a lot more than i like to.

i started with the razor on the back part of his head and then i got the scissors out to blend it with the top and that's when i panicked.

blending hair is hard!

it doesn't look hard when the real hairstylists do it but oh man it is!

i had a nice freak out moment and told matt i wasn't going to finish but, as always, i sucked it up and cut the rest and everything was fine.

i wish i had taken a before shot of his hair because we could've made a wig with all the hair i cut off!

after matt played with it for a while he decided...

he like it!

i sighed with relief.

i gotta stop doubting my skills because between his scruff and my haircutting talent my man looks dang GOOD!

back to my old self again!

once upon a time there was a girl who had super cute short hair

but she had a husband who wanted to see how her hair would look long even though she told him it was yucky

she grew her hair out a little bit to prove it to him and he agreed and wanted her short hair back

yuck yuck yuck

so they went to fix this little yucky thing on top of her head and now she is back to her normal self again!
