my heart will go on

everyone has been posting the cutest Easter weekend pics but sadly, you won't find any of those here.
apparently Matt and i are losers this year and didn't even make baskets for each other or color eggs or anything.
that is so unlike me since i LOVE going crazy for every holiday.
if you wish to see proof that sometimes we're not totally grinchy about Easter check out our funny eggs and rice krispy bunnies!

at least Matt and i did have an awesome date on saturday.
we went to see Titanic!

but not in 3D, no no that makes me dizzy and sick and i like to enjoy going to the movies so we saw it in 2D.
now before you go judging me and saying things like "why would you see it in 2D when you could just sit at home and watch it??"
well my friends, i hate to admit this but, Matt and i had never actually seen Titanic from start to finish before.
i know, where the heck have we been right?
and i am sooo glad i saw it for the first time in the theaters so it was all big and amazing!
and guys, i totally love this movie.
that sounds super girly and stupid but I LOVE THIS MOVIE!
Titanic is one of those stories that really interests me and also scares the H-E- double hockey sticks out of me!
and i was totally reminded of how much i love young Leonardo DiCaprio!

he's so stinking cute!
and even though the movie is freaking long, i didn't notice at all because i was so in love with Leo, i mean the story.
that James Cameron sure can tell a good story.
only downside to seeing this movie, you'll have Celine Dion stuck in your head for days and days and days and days.

oh and something very interesting i found out when we saw this movie, apparently i look less than 13 years old.
Matt was buying the tickets and the ticket girl asked how old i was to make sure i was allowed to see the movie.
seriously??
i mean, i've been told i have a baby face and i look younger than i am but 10 years younger?!
crazy.

also...here's a picture with me and my boyfriend Jeremy Renner.
enjoy.

happy hunger games!

i'm so excited for
HUNGER GAMES TONIGHT!!!
i seriously cannot stop listening to this song!
i know i posted that video forever and a half ago but really, it's worth listening to over and over and over and over.

so like i said, excitement beyond belief over here!
my sister-in-law's friend rented out a theater so we get to see the movie at 6:15 instead of waiting in line for-e-ver until midnight like everyone else!
WHAT UP!
the only thing that could make tonight even more magical is if Matt and i had actually made matching Hunger Games shirts like we joked about doing but then didn't have time to make.
Matt said he would've been on board with a Team Haymitch shirt!

and of course i'll be sporting my mockingjay pin tonight!

got to!

trailer and stuff

the first day back at work after a vacation is absolutely the worst!
all day i've just felt like uuuuggghhhhhhhh.....
that also might have something to do with the migraine that's been bothering me for the past couple days.
that's right, i start off the vacation with a cold and then finish it off with a migraine.
oh and Matt finally caught my cold too so he spent all day yesterday laying on the couch.
i think we might need to take a little vacation from our vacation.
good thing Thanksgiving is only a week away!

also...the Hunger Games trailer came out today.
i'm completely torn after seeing this trailer.
is it gonna be good? are they gonna ruin Hunger Games for me?
i can't decide!
thoughts:
i thought i would like the actress they picked for Katniss but after watching this i'm not so sure.
i think movie Peeta is uuuuuugly. good thing i'm team Gale.
the sets look pretty cool.
Haymitch doesn't look anything like i pictured.
my plan is to not think too much about it so i can be pleasantly surprised when it comes out.
that always works out better than having high expectations and being let down.

Attack the Block

last week Matt read on some nerdy blog he follows that they were giving away pre-screening tickets for the movie Attack the Block.

i had never even heard of this movie but he got 2 tickets for us so we went.
we got there around 6:30 and the theater was already almost full so we had to stand in the "just in case there's seats left" line.
we were like the 7th and 8th person in this line so we thought for sure we wouldn't be able to get a seat or at least not be able to get two seats together and were actually talking about just going home.
two guys standing in line in front of us actually ended up doing that but we thought we'd just stick it out for a little while longer and see what happened.
turns out we got in and actually got some amazing seats!
two seats together right smack dab in the middle of the theater.
i mean, we would've picked those seats if we had been the first people in there so it was just crazy good luck that we walked in 15 minutes before the movie started and got those seats.

i wasn't that excited about seeing this movie after Matt showed me the trailer but now i can say, the trailer does not do this movie justice.
i'm actually once of those girls that really likes alien sci fi movies (nerd alert!) and when you add in some comedy and fireworks i just love them that much more.
i was a little afraid i wouldn't be able to understand the accents but that was not a problem at all and actually made things better in my opinion.
my favorite character was Pest.

he was super funny and of course i love him because i love hats with tassels.
but almost all the lines Matt and i quoted after the movie were from him.
i actually wouldn't mind seeing this movie in theaters again when it's finally released for reals in the U.S.
teen gang, alien invasion, fireworks, accents, weed, tassle hat, super soakers, ninja moves.
what's not to like?

Matt wrote a review on his blog here if you want to check it out.
