sad puppy

it's the worst thing in the universe when your baby is sick.

and when i say baby i mean my little Padme baby.

last thursday and friday she was acting really weird.

all tired and her eyes were really glossy/red and she went through most of the day without opening them and when she did she would just squint at everything.

i was immediately worried, like a good mama should be, and starting googling around to see what could possibly be wrong with her.

boy, was that a bad idea.

i started seeing all these scary things about how squinting and glossy eyes can mean she's going blind!

i talked to Matt and told him our pup needs to see a vet because if something really bad is going on i want to stop it before it gets worse.

the vet was so nice and let us come in the same day to get her checked.

she had all these horrible tests done to her eyes and i felt so bad for her.

she let the doctor stick things in her eyes and turn her eyes green (seriously weird).

she was such a champ though! she didn't even try to yank her head away or anything!

she's the best pup ever!

after all the crazy tests we found out she's a very healthy girl (yay!) and she didn't have anything serious but she does have conjuctivitis.

basically her eyes were hurting her a lot so the only thing she could do to make it stop was keep them closed as much as possible.

poor baby!

we were sent home with some eye medicine for her and the vet said she should be better in a few days.

she was so sad all night after the vet.

i babied the heck out of her to make up for it though.

now it's been 3 full days of the eye medicine and i think she's doing better.

she'll actually keep her eyes open now and i don't notice as much glossy eye-ness.

her eyes are still a little red but we have to continue the medicine for a while so i'm sure that'll go away soon.

i hated this whole ordeal probably just as much as she did.

i can only imagine what future me is going to be like when i have a real little person to take care of and they get sick.

i'm sure i'll be a wreck!

Cold Pup

our poor little pup has been cold this winter.

she wears a hoodie but apparently that's not enough to keep her cozy.

she's been refusing to get out of her bed in the morning and curls up in the tiniest ball when she's sleeping and even gets little shivers.

i felt so bad for her today that i did this.

and she slept and enjoyed that little heater soooo much!

she's the biggest wimp ever but so dang cute!

saturday is a special day

this weekend was great! i got to spend a lot of time with matt which is pretty rare since we're so busy lately. we ran a bunch of errands on saturday and then my lovely in-laws took us to dinner and gave matt the best present in the world. his old toys! he looked like a little kid on christmas morning with these things.

we spent a good portion of the night playing with SPINJAS!! i forgot how amazing they were!

if you're having a hard time remembering spinjas i'll go over the amazingness of them.

first you load your ninja into the spinning device and twist it a couple times.

then you and your enemy both shoot your ninjas out at the same time and watch them spin and spin and spin!

they hit each other as they spin until one of you knocks the other down and is declared the champion!

YEAH!!!! man, these things were so cool! i wish they made them now!

after the spinja marathon we were sitting around watching tv. i've been trying for weeks to teach our cute little dog, padme, to roll over. she has mastered the usual sit...

and lay down...

but hadn't quite mastered roll over. she was incredibly close but was just being stubborn! i would tell her to roll over and she would wait until i gave her a little nudge and then she would do it but on saturday night...SHE DID IT ALL BY HERSELF!!

i felt like a mom watching her child walk for the first time! lame, i know! but this puppy is my little baby and i was beaming with pride! and now matt and i can't stop asking her to roll over because its so dang adorable!! poor padme. i keep telling her we'll get over it soon but i think she knows i'm lying.
