babymoon

with all the school/work we've had throughout this entire pregnancy we thought a babymoon would be out of the question for sure but magically, the stars aligned and my parents gave us an early Christmas gift and sent us to a hotel for Thanksgiving weekend!
we had plans of eating way too much food and drinking sparkling cider while wearing hotel robes.
and i couldn't stop thinking how much i would love to float around weightless in the pool for-e-ver!
unfortunately, Hawaii had other plans in mind. like rain!
it rained almost the whole time we were at the hotel but we didn't let that spoil anything!
i still got to float around in the pool for a little while and we still ate some great food!
i also had Matt paint my toenails since i can't even think about reaching my feet and i was sure to take a picture to thoroughly embarrass him!
plus, we took FULL advantage of the AC unit in our hotel room since we're still sweating buckets in our little apartment.
yes, even in December.
we had literally been in the hotel room for two seconds before Matt's shirt was off and the AC was set low.
and then he makes this little video.
and i never stop laughing at his little hip shake dance!

so Hawaii couldn't get us down!
this baby on the other hand, he certainly has a mind of his own!
he didn't want to miss out on all the fun we were having so on Saturday he decided to scare me and be super lazy. usually he's active active active so i didn't like the fact that i couldn't feel him wiggling and squirming.
then there was some bleeding. i thought maybe it was just normal and nothing to worry about since it wasn't very much blood but i called my doctor just to be sure and he sent us to the birthing center to get checked out.
everything turned out just fine but for a second there i thought we were going to have a baby that night!
and of course the only thing i could think about was the fact that we hadn't been smart enough to think to bring a hospital bag or the car seat with us.
yeah...apparently those are the kinds of things i worry about when i think i'm going to be pushing a baby out of my lady bits.

BUT...no baby arrived during the babymoon. thank goodness.
and we still managed to salvage the rest of the weekend after our little hospital trip and we had a really great time for our last hurrah before Baby Mars gets here!

*note: Matt is seriously hilarious! when we were gonna take that pic of our robe wearing/cider drinking he set the timer on his phone and then jumped on the bed and said "laugh like we're rich!" and now i can't stop laughing at that ridiculous picture! even though robes are probably the most unflattering thing for a pregnant person to wear EVER!

back to the real world

you know those times when you come home from a vacation and everything suuuuuuuuucks??
this is definitely one of those times for me.
the time when my computer is acting all wackadoodle because it was turned off for the first time in i don't even know when and now i can't read my bloggies and of course that's very frustrating to me.
and i have to go back to work and type type type til my fingers are crying which i bet you didn't know could happen but it can.
and i have more orders to complete than i think is humanly possible which is a big YAY! but also a little bit of a shoot myself in the head because i get very little sleepy time now.
and then my stupid bank is stupid stupid stupid and i want to kick them where the sun don't shine repeatedly til they roll over and die a horrible death.
and then....i look in the fridge and find my mexicano leftovers from dinner last night and realize i actually can make it through the day after all.
silver lining anyone??

trailer and stuff

the first day back at work after a vacation is absolutely the worst!
all day i've just felt like uuuuggghhhhhhhh.....
that also might have something to do with the migraine that's been bothering me for the past couple days.
that's right, i start off the vacation with a cold and then finish it off with a migraine.
oh and Matt finally caught my cold too so he spent all day yesterday laying on the couch.
i think we might need to take a little vacation from our vacation.
good thing Thanksgiving is only a week away!

also...the Hunger Games trailer came out today.
i'm completely torn after seeing this trailer.
is it gonna be good? are they gonna ruin Hunger Games for me?
i can't decide!
thoughts:
i thought i would like the actress they picked for Katniss but after watching this i'm not so sure.
i think movie Peeta is uuuuuugly. good thing i'm team Gale.
the sets look pretty cool.
Haymitch doesn't look anything like i pictured.
my plan is to not think too much about it so i can be pleasantly surprised when it comes out.
that always works out better than having high expectations and being let down.

SNOWWWW!

like i said, the best part of the trip was the cold weather and i was seriously so ridiculously excited about the snow!
i've never been in snow while it's actually snowing before.
can you tell i live in the desert?
it started snowing when we were in Payson and we got to drive through  a snowy mess that made me nervous even though it really wasn't that bad.
P1020809
P1020808
and then on Monday we woke up to snow falling and i ran right outside!
P1020841
P1020845
after a few hours we got some real snow to play with!
i made a midget snowman.
P1020878
P1020884
P1020886
and Matt threw snowballs at things.
P1020892

and Padme looked so stinking cute!
P1020869

P1020870
i love snow!
i'm sure Matt is a little nervous now because i can't stop talking about how badly we need to move somewhere that gets snow!
i've always wanted to go somewhere with cold weather and rain but now i think snow is also a must have.
we had so much fun with it!
we drove into town for dinner that night. mostly because we were craving pie.
P1020912
P1020914
P1020915
and when we were walking back out to our car both Matt and i almost slipped on the ice and fell on our butts!
mental note if we move to a place with snow: get better shoes.
if you notice in the pictures Matt is wearing his moccasins and i'm wearing skate shoes.
again...desert kids.
we can't wait to take another trip up there this winter to play in the snow some more!

Anniversary Trip

so Matt and i took our little anniversary trip to Show Low, AZ and it was awesome!
we haven't been on a relaxing vacation for 2 years. 2 freaking years.
i know, insane.
so all the tv watching and food eating and sleep sleeping was much needed.
but before all that happened we helped my parents out a little and moved all their furniture into the cabin and winterized a bit.
P1020812
P1020820

Matt also helped chop wood...while i laughed.

he got the hang of it after a while though.
(sorry for the wind)

but after all the chores were done and my parents left the real fun began.

P1020831 edit
that's right, we busted out the snuggies and the salsa verde doritos and had ourselves a party.
but then this happened.
P1020832
P1020833
Matt was seriously so sad about this he made me take a picture of it.
Padme gave him some snuggles to make him feel better.
P1020837
the best part of the trip was how cold it was up there!
even though i was sick i soaked up every minute of cold weather i could and we got to do fun things like wear gloves and beanies and make a fire in the wood stove.
P1020853
we are such city kids.
and Padme just loved every minute of the cold.
P1020855
notice she is sitting in the exact spot the heater would hit her.
and of course before we left we had to take a jumping picture.
P1020937
which turned out hilarious but a little blurry because of the self timer nonsense but don't worry, Matt's got you covered.

i'm so sad halloween is over but i guess i'll move on to the next celebration.
Matt and i will be married for 5 years next week.
holy cow!
and to celebrate we're going on a little mini vacation and of course that means that i got sick this week.
i now have 2 days to get better. UGH!
dear sore throat, i hate your guts! you're the worst thing in the entire world! i hate being reminded of you every time i swallow!
so yesterday i decided to stick it to mr. sore throat and downed like 500 gallons of water (no joke), hot soup, nasty airborne tablets and Matt even brought home my secret sore throat weapon- caramel apple spice from starbucks.
seriously, every sore throat i've had since high school has been cured within days of consuming one of those delicious beverages.
then last night i took some nyquil and Matt tucked me in for a good night's sleep....NOT.
turns out even sick and full of nyquil i don't sleep but i still got up this morning and my sore throat is slightly less annoying than it was yesterday.
hallelujah! thank you caramel apple spice!
hopefully another 2 days of the exact same routine will cure me for a fun filled vacation.

now i'm gonna go make some lists.
i'm probably the only one who does this but i like to make a crazy number of lists before a trip.
don't want to forget anything ya know.
especially when you're gonna be within 5 minutes of a store.
i'm a weird person.

jumping pics

so i was going through some old photos and i realized something.
Matt and i took this picture on a trip in colorado when we were first engaged.
jumping picture
and ever since this picture was taken in 2006 we've been taking jumping pictures in different places.

now that i'm aware we've taken pictures in four different cities and three different states we are definitely going to do this everywhere we go and for every major event!

busy busy bees

today is one of those days where i feel like i need a vacation from our vacation.
our long weekend was PACKED with stuff.

friday:
Matt didn't go into work he just finished some things from home and i had a half day so we were able to run errands and get a couple things done.
including finally getting my associates degree paperwork all filled out and submitted to MCC.
that's right, it's been 3 years since i've taken a class at MCC but i finally submitted all the paperwork and i now have an associates degree for realz.
i am awesome!
then we went out to joe's crab shack for dinner because Matt's sister gave us a gift card for our bdays and we haven't had a chance to use it yet.
and boy oh boy am i a fan of the shack now!
i can't believe i've never been there before!
actually i can because it's a little on the pricey side for us but it is SO good!
we went all out and got calamari and a steampot and a shrimp platter and just devoured everything.
NOM NOM NOM!
and the best part?
the bibs!
CIMG0426
CIMG0173
CIMG0428
we had so much fun pretending to be experts with crab legs!

saturday:
my little nephew J.J. isn't so little anymore. he got baptized and i can't even believe it!
when did he get so old??
he got baptized in 29 Palms, CA so we made the long 4 1/2 hour drive just to be there on his special day.
303200_10150305967844119_784399118_7848634_1691065_n
he was so cute and SO excited!

here he is showing off his new CTR ring.
we're so proud of him!
we got to eat yummy food and play around with the other nephews for a bit before making the drive back that same day.
299443_10150305968169119_784399118_7848642_3491106_n
it was a long but awesome day!

sunday:
while Matt caught up on sleep i had to wake up and finish some work before church then it's a quick rush home to change before dinner at the in-law's.
sundays always seem so much shorter than i want them to be.

monday:
Josue and Elba invited us to Wet N Wild because Josue got free tickets from work and we are all about free theme park tickets.
we rode on every single slide and had a blast!
and i don't know how it's possible but i always ended up with the worst position on the tubes.
ya know the one that goes backwards or gets thrown up on the sides and drenched with water?
that was always the seat i was in!
and by the time we got home from Wet N Wild-ing we were too tired to do anything else but lay around and go to bed early.

so it was a crazy crazy busy weekend but full of amazingly fun things!
i wish i could say we'll relax this weekend to make up for it but every weekend in the foreseeable future seems to be just as packed.
we need to stop being so popular!
