SNOWWWW!

like i said, the best part of the trip was the cold weather and i was seriously so ridiculously excited about the snow!

i've never been in snow while it's actually snowing before.

can you tell i live in the desert?

it started snowing when we were in Payson and we got to drive through  a snowy mess that made me nervous even though it really wasn't that bad.

and then on Monday we woke up to snow falling and i ran right outside!

after a few hours we got some real snow to play with!

i made a midget snowman.

and Matt threw snowballs at things.

and Padme looked so stinking cute!

i love snow!

i'm sure Matt is a little nervous now because i can't stop talking about how badly we need to move somewhere that gets snow!

i've always wanted to go somewhere with cold weather and rain but now i think snow is also a must have.

we had so much fun with it!

we drove into town for dinner that night. mostly because we were craving pie.

and when we were walking back out to our car both Matt and i almost slipped on the ice and fell on our butts!

mental note if we move to a place with snow: get better shoes.

if you notice in the pictures Matt is wearing his moccasins and i'm wearing skate shoes.

again...desert kids.

we can't wait to take another trip up there this winter to play in the snow some more!

Anniversary Trip

so Matt and i took our little anniversary trip to Show Low, AZ and it was awesome!

we haven't been on a relaxing vacation for 2 years. 2 freaking years.

i know, insane.

so all the tv watching and food eating and sleep sleeping was much needed.

but before all that happened we helped my parents out a little and moved all their furniture into the cabin and winterized a bit.

Matt also helped chop wood...while i laughed.

he got the hang of it after a while though. 

(sorry for the wind)

but after all the chores were done and my parents left the real fun began.

that's right, we busted out the snuggies and the salsa verde doritos and had ourselves a party.

but then this happened.

Matt was seriously so sad about this he made me take a picture of it.

Padme gave him some snuggles to make him feel better.

the best part of the trip was how cold it was up there!

even though i was sick i soaked up every minute of cold weather i could and we got to do fun things like wear gloves and beanies and make a fire in the wood stove.

we are such city kids.

and Padme just loved every minute of the cold.

notice she is sitting in the exact spot the heater would hit her.

and of course before we left we had to take a jumping picture.

which turned out hilarious but a little blurry because of the self timer nonsense but don't worry, Matt's got you covered.

on sunday, Dad was scuba diving again so we went out to breakfast and walked on this nice little cliff to see some sea lions and a beautiful ocean view.

then we went to the beach because obviously you have to go to the beach while you're in san diego.

we weren't wearing swimsuits but we had to put our feet in.

such a nerd!

Sari and i had to take a picture with the bird statue.

'cause he's fancy.

the trip was short but awesome!

my favorite part: the blue water seafood market and grill!

oh my goooooooodness.

best calamari i have ever ever EVER had!

and the tacos and fish and chips were amazing too!

i haven't stopped dreaming about that place since saturday night.

everyone in the universe should go there when they're in san diego.

The Happiest Place on Earth

last weekend we got to tag along with Dad, Sari, Steven and Chelsa to san diego for a super quick vacation.

dad was going scuba diving so while he was playing around under the ocean the rest of us got to go to the happiest place on earth.

most definitely not disneyland, i'm talking about MY happiest place on earth.

SEAWORLD!

seaworld totally kicks disneyland's butt!

even though the trainers don't swim in the water with shamu anymore (which is totally lame) i'm still in awe when i see these giant guys do tricks.

then when we went to the up close tank shamu was being so laaaaazy.

he was just swimming around upside down the entire time we watched and then after we had walked away he started doing tricks.

of course.

probably one of my favorite pictures of Matt ever!

he was copying that starfish.

we were a little confused by the dolphin show too.

for some reason there was more people jumping and spinning and flying around than dolphins jumping and spinning.

the sea lion show has always been the best!

i just love that little otter!

SHARKS!

Chelsa and Matt were very excited about the kangaroo baby.

all the rides had extra long lines that we didn't want to wait in but we did end up waiting for the sky ride at the very end of the day.

Chelsa and Sari rode together without Steven because he's a big baby that won't get on any rides.

and here we are!

it was a great ocean animal filled day and we loved every minute of it!

especially the minutes we were enjoying frozen lemonade.
